Hace tiempo, me fijé en la persona que caminaba delante, alejada unos metros, los suficientes para no verle la cara. Era alguien que me inspiraba curiosidad y quería ver su rostro, pero al llevar la misma velocidad, no conseguía mi objetivo. Pensé que yo estaba en “su pasado”, que los pasos que esa persona había dado eran mi futuro. Claramente estábamos en coordenadas espaciales diferentes a la hora de atravesar el puente.
Otras veces me he cruzado con alguien en la calle que justo pasa por delante de una farola o un árbol y tampoco consigo verle bien. Parecemos perfectamente sincronizados para no encontrarnos, en un baile medido hasta el último segundo.
Quizá hay gente con la que no estás destinado a encontrarte (aunque, aclaro, que no creo en el destino, ni en la predeterminación). Cada uno en su línea tempo-espacial, metáfora de las experiencias y vivencias que hemos tenido o nos esperan. Las coordenadas de nacimiento en tiempo y en espacio definen en gran parte condiciones de tu vida. No sé si lo he comentado, pero me gusta mucho caminar…

A while ago, I noticed the person walking in front, a few meters away, long enough not to see what he looked like. He was someone I was curious about and wanted to see his face, but with the same speed, I didn’t achieve my goal. I thought I was in “his past”, that the steps that that person had taken were my future. We were clearly at different spatial coordinates when we crossed the bridge.
Other times I’ve come across someone on the street who just passes in front of a lamp or a tree and I don’t get a good look at him or her either. We seem perfectly synchronized not to meet, in a dance measured to the last second.
All of this has led me to think that there are people that, perhaps, you’re not meant to meet (although, of course, I don’t Maybe there are people you’re not meant to meet (although, let me clarify, I don’t believe in fate or predetermination). Each of us is on our own space-time continuum, a metaphor for the experiences we’ve had or those that await us. The coordinates of your birth in time and space largely define the conditions of your life. I don’t know if I’ve mentioned it before, but I really enjoy walking…
